IT sector recruitment still going strong

myjobsinpune.com, the leading job portal in Pune, has reported an average of 22% growth, month on month, in current IT job postings for Quarter 1, 2008, allaying fears that IT sector is cutting down on fresh hires.
"Despite fears of a slowdown on fresh hires by the IT sector, we continue to witness sustained growth in job postings on myjobsinpune. We believe that corporates are finding greater value in the focused approach of myjobsinpune to drive down the average cost of manpower acquisition and two, the IT sector itself is looking at increased avenues for growth including RIMS etc. which will need fresh hires, says Saurabh Shroff, Head Marketing, myjobsinpune.com.
"For job seekers too, the Internet is emerging as the destination of choice to search for a job of their choice. According to an industry study by Juxt Consult in 2007, 73 per cent of Internet users ranked job searches as the second most preferred activity on the net-after the use of e-mail, added Mr Shroff.
Though the weakening in IT spends on custom application development in the US is touted as the main reason for a slowdown on hires by IT sector, a host of strong positive factors are still driving hiring by the sector.
